Facilities
Facilities Designed for Learning, Growth and Discovery
At Brookhurst International Schools, we believe that the environment in which students
learn plays an important role in their academic achievement, wellbeing and personal
development.
Across our Lavington and Kiserian campuses, our facilities support students throughout their Brookhurst journey, from Early Years through Preparatory and High School to Sixth Form.
Our campuses combine modern learning spaces, specialist academic facilities, sports and
recreation areas, creative spaces and welcoming social environments designed to
encourage students to learn, explore, create, compete and connect.
Two Campuses. One Brookhurst Experience.
Brookhurst International Schools operates two distinctive campuses, each designed around
the needs of the students and communities it serves.
Lavington Campus
A serene day-school campus in the heart of Nairobi
Set within approximately 5 acres in Lavington, our Lavington Campus provides a welcoming and stimulating environment for students from Early Years to Sixth Form.
Its location provides convenient road access from the greater Westlands area, Kilimani, Kileleshwa, Lang'ata, Ngong Road, Nairobi CBD and other parts of the city. Our extensive school transport network serves numerous routes within Nairobi and neighboring areas.
Within its green and peaceful surroundings, students have access to academic, sporting,
creative and recreational facilities designed to support a balanced education.
Learning Spaces
With more than 20 classrooms, the Lavington Campus provides sufficient classroom space
across its different sections of the school. Our learning spaces are designed to encourage participation, collaboration and engagement while supporting the different needs of students as they progress through the school.
Science Laboratories
Practical learning is an important part of the Brookhurst experience. The campus has dedicated:
- Chemistry Laboratory
- Biology Laboratory
- Physics Laboratory
These specialist spaces allow students to move beyond textbooks and develop their scientific understanding through experimentation, investigation and practical learning.
ICT & Digital Learning
Our dedicated ICT Laboratory gives students opportunities to develop the technological
and digital skills required for today’s world. Technology is also integrated into learning across the school, helping students research, collaborate, create and explore ideas beyond the traditional classroom.
Library
The Lavington Library provides students across the school with access to a wide selection of literary and academic resources. Whether discovering a first favorite story, conducting academic research or simply enjoying time with a good book, the library encourages a culture of reading, curiosity and independent learning.
Art & Music
Creativity is an essential part of a Brookhurst education. The campus has a dedicated Art Studio where students can experiment with different forms of visual expression and a Music Room that provides space for students to develop their musical abilities.
These specialist environments give students opportunities to discover talents and interests beyond their core academic subjects.
Early Years Play Areas
Our youngest learners need space to move, explore and discover. Dedicated Early Years play areas include:
- Swings
- Slides
- Jungle gyms
- Balance beams
- Outdoor play spaces
These environments make play an important part of learning while helping children develop their confidence, coordination, social skills and imagination.
Sports Facilities
Physical activity and sport form an important part of student life at Brookhurst. Lavington Campus facilities include:
- Basketball court
- Netball court
- Swimming pool
From structured physical education lessons and competitive sport to recreational activities,
these facilities give students opportunities to remain active while developing teamwork,
resilience and confidence.
Swimming Pool
Our Lavington swimming pool is one of the highlights of the campus. Swimming forms part of the wider sporting experience at Brookhurst and gives students opportunities to develop confidence in the water, improve their technique and participate in both recreational and competitive swimming.
The Cafeteria – At the Heart of Campus Life
Some of the most memorable parts of school life happen outside the classroom. Our cafeteria sits at the heart of the Lavington Campus. It is a place where students come together to enjoy nutritious and delicious meals, catch up with friends and share conversations about their day. More than simply a place to eat, it is an important social space where relationships and a sense of community continue to grow.
School Halls – Spaces for Expression and Community
The Lavington Campus has two dedicated school halls that provide important spaces for students to gather, perform, present and share ideas. Throughout the school year, the halls come alive as venues for a variety of academic, creative and community activities, including:
- School debates
- Drama productions
- Musical performances
- Student presentations
- Assemblies
- School celebrations and events
These spaces give students opportunities to develop their confidence, creativity, communication and public-speaking skills while providing the wider school community with places to come together and celebrate student talent and achievement.
From a spirited debate to a memorable school production, our halls are spaces where students are encouraged to find their voice, express themselves and take center stage.
Kiserian Campus
Space to learn, live, explore and grow
Set on approximately 16 acres in Kiserian, Kajiado County, against the expansive landscape of the Rift Valley, our Kiserian Campus provides an environment where students have the space to learn, participate in sport, explore their interests and enjoy the wider experience of school life.
As a day and boarding campus, Kiserian serves families from Nairobi, Kajiado, Machakos
and beyond. Our extensive school transport network makes the campus accessible to day
scholars from surrounding areas. The campus currently comprises nine major buildings, housing academic, residential, sporting, administrative and student-life facilities.
Early Years & Preparatory School
Brookhurst continues to invest significantly in the future of the Kiserian Campus.
In 2027, the Early Years and Preparatory School is scheduled to move into a modern multistory purpose-built facility designed to create a contemporary learning environment for our younger students.

It will become an important new center for school life at Kiserian.

The High School section is currently housed within the main school administration building
and provides a range of dedicated academic spaces.
Facilities include:
- Spacious classrooms
- Library
- ICT Laboratory
- Science laboratories
- Art Room
- Specialist learning spaces
These facilities support students as their learning becomes increasingly specialized
through High School and Sixth Form.
Science Laboratories
Our science facilities provide spaces for practical investigation across the sciences. Students are able to reinforce classroom theory through experimentation and practical work, developing the analytical and investigative skills required for advanced study.
ICT & Technology
Dedicated ICT facilities allow students to strengthen their digital literacy, computing and
research skills while incorporating technology into their wider learning.
As the campus develops, the planned Technology & Innovation spaces will further expand opportunities for students to create, experiment and solve problems.
Libraries & Reading Spaces
Reading and independent study remain important components of life at Brookhurst. Our library spaces provide students with access to books, academic resources and quiet environments in which to read, research and study independently.
Sports & Outdoor Facilities
One of the great strengths of the Kiserian Campus is its space. Our extensive outdoor environment enables students to participate in a broad range of sports and physical activities. Current facilities include:
- Two large sports pitches
- Tarmacked running track
- Two basketball and netball courts
- Golf driving range
- Tennis court
- Early Years and Preparatory play park
- Extensive outdoor recreation areas
The campus provides students with opportunities to experience both competitive and recreational sport while developing discipline, teamwork, fitness and resilience.
Swimming Centre
Our swimming center features a 25-metre swimming pool together with spectator seating. The facility supports swimming lessons, training, competitive swimming and recreational activities and provides another important dimension to Brookhurst’s sporting programme.
The School Hall
At the center of daily school life is our school hall. It is where students gather to enjoy their meals, spend time with friends and share the stories and experiences that make school memorable. Beyond dining, the hall is a versatile community space used for numerous school activities
including:
- Plays
- Musical performances
- Debates
- Presentations
- Assemblies
- School celebrations
It is a space where the Brookhurst community regularly comes together.
Boarding Facilities
Kiserian Campus is home to Brookhurst’s boarding community. Our boarding houses provide students with a structured, supportive and comfortable home away from home while allowing them to benefit fully from academic, sporting and co-curricular life on campus. Students have access to dedicated residential spaces, common areas, study spaces and support from our boarding team.
The campus also provides student laundry facilities, making every day residential life more convenient for our boarders. Staff Housing On-campus staff accommodation strengthens the residential community at Kiserian and ensures that members of staff are present within the wider campus environment. This contributes to the strong sense of community and support that characterizes life at our day and boarding school.
Green Spaces
Perhaps one of Kiserian Campus's most distinctive features is its natural environment.
Mature trees, open lawns and extensive green spaces create a refreshing setting for learning and student life. Students have room to walk, play, interact, participate in outdoor activities and experience school within an environment that feels spacious and connected to nature.
Building for the Future
Brookhurst International Schools continues to invest in facilities that respond to the changing needs of education and the ambitions of our students. As part of the Kiserian Campus masterplan, additional sporting and recreational developments are planned towards 2029, including:
Sports Centre A dedicated facility designed to further expand opportunities for indoor sport, physical education, fitness and training.
Multi-Sport Astroturf A dedicated artificial-turf facility planned to support sports including hockey, lacrosse, football and other field activities.
Golf Putting Green Complementing the existing golf driving range, a putting green is planned to further strengthen golf development within the school. Together with the new Early Years and Preparatory School development and 1,500-seat auditorium planned for 2027, these projects represent Brookhurst’s continued commitment to developing a campus that grows alongside our students.
More Than Buildings
Great facilities matter because of what students are able to do within them.
A laboratory becomes a place of discovery.
A library becomes a doorway to new worlds.
A swimming pool becomes a place to build confidence.
A sports field becomes a place to learn teamwork and resilience.
An art studio becomes a place for imagination.
A cafeteria or school hall becomes a place where friendships grow.
Across both our Lavington and Kiserian campuses, our aim is to provide environments that
allow every student to learn, discover their strengths, pursue their interests and enjoy a
rich school experience from Early Years to Sixth Form.
Experience Brookhurst for Yourself
The best way to understand our campuses is to experience them.
We welcome prospective families to visit Brookhurst International Schools, explore our facilities, meet our community and discover the environment in which our students learn and grow.
